During the DC New York Comic-Con 2024 Panel “Jim Lee & Friends” the DC President Publisher and Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee announced the return of the DC Vertigo imprint as the home of DC’s creator-owned comic books, graphic novels and collected editions.
Originally launched in 1993 by editor Karen Berger, the Vertigo imprint was to publish comics with adult content, that did not fit the restrictions of DC’s main line. Know titles of the Vertigo brand where Lucifer, Astro City and The Sheriff of Babylon. Vertigo was shutdown in 2020, resulting in moving titles to its successor, the DC Black Label.
During the Panel, Jim Lee brought writer James Tynion IV to the stage, with a call-out to artist Álvaro Martínez Bueno in the crowd, and announced that Tynion and Bueno’s creator-owned The Nice House by the Sea comic book series will be going back to print on the first three sold-out issues and will be the first series to bear the new DC Vertigo imprint logo.
Fans received a NYCC exclusive edition of The Nice House by the Sea #1.
All three second printing issues of The Nice House by the Sea will be available in store on November 20, 2024.
